I’m glad to be back here. I’m on the wrong side of the road, I’m over in the wrong track, but I’m excited to see this place and how they do their thing. “

Ashley Force Hood and her cat Simba were the focus of a photo shoot by noted photographer David Woo for his upcoming book Top Dogs and Their Pets. The NHRA Funny Car star posed in her trademark Castrol GTX firesuit along with a freshly bathed Simba for the upcoming coffee table style book featuring celebrities and their pets. Simba, always right at home at the races, kept the entire John Force Racing family on their toes before the photo shoot running and hiding throughout the Yorba Linda shop

"At first Simba just wanted to run around in the front lobby of our shop. There are so many bright colorful things up there he was just having a heyday running underneath funny cars and jumping over couches. He just didn't know where he wanted to go. We had to keep searching for him and climbing under the race cars to coax him out," said AOL's Hottest Athlete of 2007. "Once he got into the swing of things he tired out a little from running around. That worked out pretty good because we were all getting a little tired from chasing him all over the place. It was a lot of fun."

Car driver Ashley Force has been named No. 10 in Yahoo!’s Top Trends in Search for 2007 in the sports news category, it was announced recently by the global Internet site that is among the most trafficked Web destination worldwide.

Force finished 10th behind a host of other major sports newsmakers for the year, including NASCAR, tennis stars Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams, the World Series winning Boston Red Sox, soccer stars David Beckham, Christiano Ronaldo and Ronaldinho, the Chicago Bears and the Super Bowl. Force was the only motorsports personality named to the list.

Force, who earned the Auto Club Road to the Future award which recognizes NHRA’s rookie of the year, became the first female racer to advance to a final round in Funny Car in NHRA history. She drove her Castrol GTX Ford Mustang to a 10th place finish in the NHRA POWERade Series points standings, the best season finish for a female driver in Funny Car history. Force, 25, is the daughter of 14-time NHRA Funny Car world champion John Force. They star in “Driving Force,” a popular reality show that airs on the A&E Network.
